Elevate Your Table Styling: Combinations of Fruits, Florals & Candles

In Canberra we are spoilt for amazing venues to host events, and introducing styling combinations such as fruits with florals and candles can transform your table into a breathtaking focal point. This creative approach not only adds visual appeal but also brings a fresh, vibrant touch to your decor.

In June, we had the pleasure of styling guest tables for Giorgia’s hens party at Beltana Farm. We embraced the season by combining seasonal fruits, lush florals, and candles. The table featured a mix of rich, wintery fruits like artichokes and pears paired with delicate, seasonal winter blooms such as ornamental kale, poppies and hyacinth. To add a warm, inviting glow, we used an assortment of candles in varying heights and colours, which beautifully illuminated the entire setting and paired perfectly with the textures and decor of the intimate event space.

Harmonizing Florals and Fruits

When pairing fruits with florals, aim for a harmonious balance. Choose flowers that complement the colours and shapes of your selected fruits. For instance, deep red roses can beautifully highlight the vibrant shades of pomegranates, while white peonies offer a delicate contrast to the boldness of citrus fruits. Mixing textures and colours will enhance the overall aesthetic and ensure your table setting is both dynamic and cohesive.

The Magic of Candles

Candles add a warm, romantic glow that enhances the ambiance of your table setting. Opt for varied heights and styles of candles—taper candles, tea lights, and pillar candles—to create depth and interest. Arrange them amongst your floral and fruit elements to cast a soft, inviting light and consider using candle holders that reflect the theme of your wedding or event.

Seasonal Considerations

In Canberra, embracing the seasons can significantly impact your table styling. For a winter event, think about using apples, pumpkin, and artichokes, paired with evergreen branches and rich, deep-hued florals. During the warmer months, vibrant berries, stone fruits, and tropical flowers can bring a fresh, lively feel to your table. Tailoring your fruits and florals to the season ensures that your decor is not only beautiful but also relevant and timely.

Creating a Cohesive Look

To achieve a cohesive look, ensure that your fruit, floral, and candle elements work together seamlessly. Select a colour palette that ties these components together (ensuring they compliment the venue) and use it throughout your table setting whilst trying not to overcrowd the table, remember you still need space for glasses and food!
